I solve problems through design

Hello, my name is Samantha but I prefer Sam. I am both a UX/UI designer and professional photographer. This is my portfolio of my UX/UI design process and work I have done for companies I have worked for and concepts that I have had throughout my time as a graphic designer. I have 5 years experience as a graphic designer and experience as a UX/UI designer. Also took a one year intensive program in Communication Design at Fashion Institute of Technology and got my UX Design Certification from General Assembly in NYC.

Originally from Texas, I enjoy a good BBQ as well as have a knack for southern hospitality. Also I have traveled to over 6 countries around the world and hope to go to many more in the upcoming years. New cultures and experiences drive my inner designer to challenge myself and do new unique work in the world of UX/UI design.

Also throughout my time as a designer, I have reached out to multiple companies after downloading their apps and seeing issues, I give suggestions about how to alter their UX design to make it flow better and UI to appear more visually pleasing to the user based on my experience when I first enter the app. As well as send screen shots of different issues that I have seen in their HTML/CSS that aesthetically needs to be changed.

Going to new galleries is always exciting for me to learn something new from the art world. Modern and classic artwork helps mold my designs with a unique approach for each project. As a UX/UI designer, I truly enjoy working with other creatives to collaborate with them on projects and regularly do user testing to help make UX/UI designs more dynamic and functional.
